Logis Du Pressoir / Travelling here

We are we?:

Le Logis du Pressoir is situated in the heart of the Loire Valley, in central France and within the Loire-Anjou-Touraine National Park (UNESCO World Heritage Site).

We are close to main motorway, airport and TGV rail (high speed train) links and therefore, conveniently based for both short breaks and longer holidays.

Brion is approximately 5 hours drive from Calais, 2 ½ hours from Paris, 1 hour from le Mans and Tours and 30 minutes from Angers and Saumur.

With the A85 motorway just a 5 minute drive, we are also perfectly situated for stopovers on route to the South of France and back to the Channel ports.

Please do contact us if you need advice on the easiest way to travel to us.

Travelling By Car:-

Driving in France is usually very relaxed, with excellent road networks and light traffic on main routes to the Loire. A-roads (nationales) and local roads give plenty of opportunity to enjoy the beautiful French countryside, whilst the Motorways (autoroutes) will get you to your destination fast and efficiently.

Cross by car ferry (various UK ports) or use the Eurotunnel car service from Folkestone to Calais.

Approximate driving times from main French Ports are as follows (without stops):

Zeebrugge: 6 hours Cherbourg: 3.30 hours

Calais / Eurotunnel: 5 hours St. Malo: 4.30 hours

Boulogne: 4.50 hours Caen: 3 hours

See our Travel Links page for crossing links.

By Aeroplane:

International flights: Paris is the main arrival airport for many international cities. From Paris, you can either hire a car (journey time to Brion approx. 2 ½ hours) or catch a high speed train to Angers or Tours (see journey times below).

Flights from the UK: We are lucky enough to be close to several airports as well as benefitting from low cost airlines which fly from various UK destinations to our closest airports:

Angers-Marcé: BA City Flyer from London City – just 20 minutes from Brion!

Tours – Val de Loire: Ryanair from London Stansted – 1 hour drive to Brion.

Nantes: 90 minute drive to Brion.

Rennes: 2 hour drive to Brion.

Car hire available at all airports.

See our Travel Links page for further details and airline links.

By Train:-

Eurostar operates an efficient service from London St. Pancras, linking to the French High Speed Train (TGV) routes (via Lille or Paris) to Angers or Tours. From here, car hire or taxi service is available.

Local transport:

Local bus and train networks do exist, and so whilst a car is not absolutely necessary, if you wish to make the most of sightseeing in the Loire region, we recommend having a car.

A bus service runs twice daily from Brion to Beaufort and on to Angers or Saumur. (see Anjou Bus website).

The local railway stations operate during commuter hours and are situated at St. Mathurin and La Menitre going to Saumur, Angers and Tours (refer to the SNCF website for full details).
